Our Mission and Vision

The KCGI is committed to train highly specialized professionals of applied information technology, to equip them with practical and creative skills, and to promote their willingness and ability to respond to the current and future social needs.

Mission

"Academic Freedom and Independence" was a philosophical principle of the Middle Ages that Western universities advocated in order to be independent from the church and nation. This principle has been inherited for centuries among traditional universities in the West. In Japan, the principle was adopted into universities during the cultural enlightenment of the Meiji Era, and remained with universities established after World War II. However, currently "Academic Freedom and Independence" has become only a theory among mass-access (general) universities in Japan, compared to research-oriented universities. It even prevents such universities from observing the principle practically and successfully training students to become essential human resources for business industries.

It is urgent and crucial for the educational sector to respond to the serious shortage of human resources in the Japanese business sector, which has already led many medium and small sized enterprises to face bankruptcy in the prolonged periods of recession.

The KCGI values education as a significant means to achieve social prosperity and happiness. We are committed to respond to the various sophisticated needs of the current IT community, and to provide well-trained and highly specialized IT professionals to the world, the KCGI, with the visions of this coming ubiquitous era, will contribute to the development of a highly information-oriented society and economic recovery of Japan.
