June 12, Tuesday, NAIS special lecture was　held at Hyakumanben campus of KCGI inviting Mr.Takao Yajima , the headquarters information project group group manager of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd.

On the day, about 70 people including the members of NAIS, students of KCGI and KCG participated, and listened intently how Matsushita restored business deficit in 2001 to surplus of 460 billion yen in 2006 in the management innovation exploiting IT. In Matsushita group before management innovation, there was competition and management resource was dispersed, heavy and slow. However, New president (at the time) Nakamura executed “customer satisfaction, pursuit of value”, “realization of light, quick management”, “Creation　of creative time” with his strong leadership, and made hit products such as large- sized flat TV and restored achievement.

Especially, interesting thing to us researching IT and management was that the person in top management himself promoted IT innovation saying “no IT innovation, no management reform” and achieved the above management reform. On the background, new president (at the time) Nakamura had management experience at Matsushita in America, and on the basis of it, seems to have constructed management system which Japanese global companies should have.
