The 50th anniversary ceremony of Kyoto Computer Gakuin (KCG), the 10th anniversary ceremony of The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI), and the lecture about “.Kyoto”, were held at Kyoto International Conference Center on June 1, 2013. About 2000 guests from inside and outside of Japan gathered in the ceremony hall.
The ceremony started from an opening movie which presents the 50 years history of KCG with a song “We’re not alone／Jupiter” by Ms. Nitza Melas. Thereafter, president of KCG and KCGI addressed history and prospects of kcg.edu group with mentioning of 50 years supports of many people made the ceremony possible. H.E. Ambassadors of Bosnia Herzegovina, Kyrgyz Republic, and Papua New Guinea gave congratulatory speeches in the ceremony. Moreover, Vice-Governor of Kyoto, Mayor of Kyoto City delivered messages of celebration to KCG/KCGI. Video messages were sent from absent guests H.E. Ambassador of Republic of Mozambique and president of Rochester Institute of Technology in USA.
Special lecture "Creating Kyoto in the Cyber-Physical World - Proposal on the use of the top level domain ”.kyoto” - " was given by professor Mr. Minoh, Institute for Information Management and Communication, Kyoto University, Director-General.
The celebration began by greeting of Madam Yasuko Hasegawa, the founder of KCG. Japan’s traditional dances by Maiko were performed as well as live performance by a singer of the Cirque du Soleil, Ms. Nitza Melas.
