The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics presents the public seminar
"A Seminar on Instructional Design in e-Learning Business"
-Learn cutting-edge educational techniques in designing e-Learning subjects-
The Kyoto College of Graduate Studies for Informatics (KCGI) have held seminars supporting faculty development for both high school and university.
In celebration of its 5th anniversary, KCGI offers a seminar to be conducted by Dr. Maya Bentz, former Distance Learning International Project Coordinator, and Blackboard Consultant of Teachers College, Columbia University. This is a great opportunity to learn American latest educational techniques in designing e-learning subjects in Japan. Educators in the academe (secondary and collegiate levels), as well as in the corporate sector are invited to participate in this seminar.

This seminar provides the theory and practice of instructional design. Students will be asked to design e-Learning course modules for fictitious companies. Students will also learn to use various web and multimedia production tools. In addition, they will compare and study various case studies and platforms for e-Learning, and learn several useful tips and hints.

Face-to-face classes aim to explain the application of tools, assignments and various case studies and which theory should be applied according to the situation and circumstances.
- e-Learning classes

The course consists of 15 learning modules. The following study resources will be available to all seminar participants: PowerPoint files for each module, case studies, assignments, self-evaluation assignments, consultation via email service, etc.

Those who complete this course will understand American cutting-edge teaching methods using ICT, understand theories related to e-Learning design and know how to use and apply various course management systems, authoring tools, etc. The final project of the course requires designing an actual e-Learning course.
