Data Warehouse and Knowledge Management (DWH)

The Data Warehouse (DWH) is a system that analyzes, in real time, associations of items in a data stream, operational database of transaction and communication records, something that the previous aggregate calculation system could not do. Currently, in retail and service industries, they compete and make significant differences in sales performance and records by analyzing the vast amount of data and planning sales strategies with the POS (Point of Sale) Information Management System.

In addition, the knowledge management is a priority of a company, because it allows, through the use of IT and network technologies, to efficiently share and make good use of various techniques.

The course aims to acquire abilities to build an environment that organizes necessary knowledge and information of business administration in an organic system framework, and develops corporate mid-term and long-term strategies. It will teach techniques for knowledge management, customer information database, data analysis, and development of business strategies.

For a master’s project, under the supervision of an adviser, students choose a project title, and write a proposal and/or a thesis on the DWH system building and the introduction of the knowledge management tools and OLAP (On-line Analytical Processing) tools for a hypothetical company.
