The ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) is a concept and a method to effectively integrate and manage the business resources of a company in order to achieve business efficiency. The ERP package is a name of comprehensive software for the ERP, which includes the R/3 of SAP Inc., PeopleSoft of PeopleSoft Inc., and as a database, Oracle Applications of Oracle Inc. and BAANIV of Dutch Baan Inc. The ERP package enables a company to manage accumulated information in a quick and unified manner, and thus to achieve its efficiency in administrative (financial accounting and human resources), production (inventory control), and sales (commodity distribution) operations to the maximum level. The ERP package is an indispensable software tool for a company to introduce IT in every aspect of its business. However, trained professionals who can fully utilize and master the ERP software are in serious shortage, in the corporate world.

The course is aimed at acquiring the ability to introduce, manage, and operate the ERP package. It does not only focus on operational techniques, but also includes how to improve the operational system itself. For master’s projects, students will design and develop an ERP system for a hypothetical company, and learn a successful business model, under the supervision of an advisor.
